For Candidates

I know my user name and password however the system says 'Invalid'

Both the username and password are case sensitive. Please ensure you are using the correct format. Ensure that when you copy and paste there are no spaces before or after.

My account has been locked, what do I do?

Call us at 416-286-6668 and we will unlock your account for you. Once we reset your account it is important to totally log out of BORs before you try to log in again.

My account was unlocked but I continue to have the problem?

Call us and we will reset your username and password. Once this is completed, we will let you know your new log-in information.

What is considered acceptable forms of identification when a candidate only has a driver’s licence as a government issued photo ID?

Only one piece of identification for a criminal background check must be a valid government issued piece of identification. The other piece of ID can be a student card, PR card, health card. A social insurance card and bank cards (credit/debit) are NOT acceptable forms of identification for a criminal check. Ensure your ID hasn’t expired.

Are there any Provinces where a third party are not permitted to obtain a driver’s abstract?

Yes, currently the Province of Alberta will not provide an abstract to a third party. The applicant/candidate must obtain this themselves.

I have received an email (Request to conduct a background check) and it lists a lot of requirements that I didn’t think I need. Do I need to provide everything for all of the checks?

Check your requisition to see what checks the employer has requested. The email you received is a standard message for all candidates and lists all requirements for all types of verifications. The first line of the email reads “You will need to provide the following IF requested by the recruiter”

I have been asked to have a criminal check completed. Do I need to upload copies of my witness’s IDs in order to submit my requisition?

NO, we only require your two IDs, not your witness’s. Your witness only needs to confirm that your two IDs you are uploading to the system do in fact belong to you. The witness signs the e-consent or physical form verifying this.

How do I access my requisition/form to complete with all of my background history?

You will follow the link in the email with the subject starting with “Request to conduct a background check …”. Do NOT sign-up or attempt to login to your requisition by clicking on these links on the Britton Management Profiles website. Please follow the link provided in the email you received from info@brittonmanagement.com.

I’ve been told my requisition hasn’t been completed successfully but I have submitted my information.

After you submit, you will receive a green message on the top of the screen saying the requisition was successfully completed. Or, you will receive a red message with an error(s) you need to correct. The requisition is not submitted until you receive the green message.

I do not want my current employer to be contacted. How can I ensure they will not be reached out to?

f you are asked for references, please do not include them as a reference. For employment verifications, we will not contact your current employer if you check off the No box to the question “Can we contact your current employer?” on the Britton Management Profiles release/consent form. Ensure No is checked off.

Why am I getting an error message to fill in address 1?

When you are completing your requisition, under Candidate Details, the address number is for the house number of your house/building. Street name is for the name of the street. If one is left blank, the requisition will show error.

My requisition includes an electronic ID verification. How is this type of check completed?

Please note, the link for this ID verification can only be used once. Therefore please do not click on this link until you are ready to complete the process.

I am trying to sign my requisition on my phone and cannot. What can I do? (we do not recommend doing this on your phone) A. Trying turning down the brightness on your

Try turning down the brightness on your phone then try again.

For Clients

We have a new Recruiter, what is required to have an account set up for them?

A new account can be created in two ways. The Recruiter can go to Britton’s website and in the middle of screen between Login and Cancel, click on ‘or sign-up’. A person can complete their details online and then submit it to us for activation. Alternatively, send us an email with the person’s full name, email address, contact information and where the invoices should be directed and we will set up an account.

The credit check for my candidate looks good. Why was it marked caution (yellow)?

If there was a single late payment (showing as a 1+ in the 30/60/90 column, BMP must bring this to your attention and therefore mark the credit as a caution.

I have a candidate that requires searches in different countries. Which box should I check off (Canada Search, US Search, International Search)?

Please select the country the candidate lives in in order to access the proper release form for the criminal check.  

How can I submit a requisition for a candidate requiring a Canada criminal check and an international criminal check?

You will need to submit two separate requisitions in this case as the candidate will automatically be sent the appropriate release forms based on which search check box has selected – Canada Search, US Search or International Search and only one box can be selected on each requisition.

Under Criminal Check result “Could not be completed additional search recommended “NO” mean?

This result means that the applicant’s criminal record came back with a “Hit” in the CPIC database and the local database was “clear”. This result can also come back when the applicant supplies the declaration page and the police were not able to confirm the information as something was missing or incorrect.

Under Criminal Check result “Could not be completed additional search recommended “YES” mean?

This result means that the applicant’s criminal record came back with a “Hit” in the CPIC database and “Possible Hit” in the local database. The result can also come back when the applicant supplies the declaration page and the police were not able to confirm the information as something was missing or incorrect.
